LA First Responders receive Cozy Faux Throws thanks to the Cozy Faux - Comfort Relief Fund
Is there something you lacked growing up?
Many successful adults find themselves collecting the toys they never had as children.
Tony Robbins and his team have provided over 500 million meals to hungry Americans. When he was 11, a stranger brought bags of groceries to his family, who had no food for Thanksgiving.
Tony Robbin's act of kindness changed so many lives and led him to embrace his philosophy,“The Secret to Living is Giving,” donating millions each year.
Today’s podcast guest, Deborah Price, didn’t grow up in the healthiest environment, instead of harboring anger, she has transformed her past into brighter futures for others through her unwavering belief in “GIVING.”
Deborah's philosophy of giving what she needed to receive resonates deeply.
Deborah often shares about her giving, “I don’t need anything in return, I don’t expect anything. I just like making other people happy and finding more ways to make a difference.”
This is a beautiful giving story worth sharing.
During our conversation, Deborah discussed the Los Angeles Fires, knowing at least 40 families who lost their homes.
During the height of the fires, Deborah began giving her company’s Cozy Faux fur blankets to families she knew, who lost their homes.
Once the magnitude of the devastation set in, she established a fundraiser to help provide comfort to families during this very stressfull time.
Deborah created the "The Cozy Faux Comfort Relief" in partnership with "Making the World A Softer Place" a Los Angeles based nonprofit organization committed to delivering comfort to those in need.
The goal is to raise $30K to give as many comforting, Cozy Faux blankets as possible to those directly affected by the fires, as well as to those who helped others including firefighters and first responders.
Thank you.
Deborah’s actions have taught me valuable lessons on generosity:
1. Give What You Need to Receive
- Lesson: Deborah gives kindness, encouragement, and support because she lacked them growing up.
- Application: Reflect on what you wish you had more of in life. Appreciation, Mentorship, or Encouragement, and consciously give it to others. It fosters connection and creates a cycle of generosity.
2. Confidence and the Ability to Figure Things Out Matter More Than Expertise
- Lesson: Deborah is always willing to learn, adapt, and deliver results.
- Application: Instead of waiting to be fully qualified, trust that you can figure things out along the way. Take calculated risks, say yes to opportunities, and back yourself with effort and learning.
3. The Power of Making People Feel Seen and Valued
- Lesson: Early in her career, she was a Celebrity Make-Up Artist. Deborah didn’t just apply makeup—she made people feel beautiful by highlighting their special qualities & making them feel special.
- Application: In personal and professional interactions, go beyond surface-level conversations. Compliment people authentically, recognize their strengths, and help them feel appreciated.
4. Thoughtful Giving Creates Lasting Impact
- Lesson: Deborah doesn’t just give gifts; she gives things that evoke emotions. Handwritten notes and her super cozy blankets create lasting emotional connections.
- Application: When giving, think beyond the item itself. What emotion do you want to inspire? How can you make the gift personal? In business, tailor recognition and appreciation in ways that genuinely resonate with people.
5. Talk to People—Curiosity Breeds Connection
- Lesson: Deborah strikes up conversations with strangers to hear their stories.
- Application: Engage with new people in everyday life. Ask questions, listen, and seek opportunities to connect. It builds relationships, expands your network, and often leads to unexpected opportunities.
